Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read my “About Me” page!
As you can see my online alias is BinaryBrother… Binary representing a universal language between machines and Brother being translated as friend. So a friendly ‘translator’ or helper of sort is my intended perception of the alias…
I’m a Software Developer and enjoy that more than anything. Network Security and Reverse Engineering are my secondary hobbies. As you’ve probably guessed by now, due to the announcement of my program that was built to remove the 30 song a month limitation from Rhapsody! As well as my involvement with the Chew7 project. I don’t do anything with a negative goal, everything I do has an intended outcome that’s more positive than negative… I just enjoy using the internet and its freedom to its entirety.
Favorite Programming Languages
(I’ve put years into understanding these languages)
AutoIt
QuickBasic
C#
VB.NET/VisualBasic
Currently Learning
(I only have mild experience with these)
C++
Python
Java
Web-Based
(These should be common-knowledge for everyone by now)
HTML
PHP
JavaScript
AutoIt is sometimes considered more of a “scripting” language, but it is my personal opinion that AutoIt ‘graduated’ from a Scripting language to a full-fledged programming language a few years ago when the developers decided to implement native support for GUI creation and manipulation as well as allow COM interaction in a very simplistic manor… AutoIt is one of the most power languages in my arsenal…
QuickBasic is a fairly ancient language, being first released in 1985 and discontinued in roughly 1988. It’s still worth a mention though, as I spent many years building programs on an ancient Toshiba Laptop that came with an old version of DOS and QBasic… When that’s all a creative mind has to work with, creative things can happen.
C# and VB.NET/VisualBasic are self-explanatory languages being among the most popular in today’s society…
C++ (Managed) is just another C type language, and is fairly easy to work with… Although I’ve not needed to design very many programs that required the power of C++… I also can’t remember the last time I dropped a 405 smallblock into a Volkswagen Beetle because I thought it needed the power… 0.O
Python/Java both of which are very straight forward languages. I’ve not messed with either for sometime, nor do I expect to be able to give out very much help in that area… Although if required, I could pick them back up good enough to solve elementary issues.
HTML, PHP, and JavaScript… I mess with these 3 on a daily basis solving various issues on different domains… I’m not really going to go into detail on just how much of these 3 I know, because in today’s society there are 12 year old kids on MySpace who can utilize various HTML/CSS methods and have learned enough to bend templates to there bidding… Although I would have to say PHP is my favorite of the 3 because it’s actually considered a “Server-Side” language, and allows for a much greater deal of control and access…
